SDCCfit 4 Day / 12 Mile Walk SDCC Challenge 2016

#SDCCfit 4 Day / 12 Mile #SDCCfitwalk Challenge (on 6/21/16)

Wow.

#SDCCfit has grown since Leonard Sultana’s (Englishman in San Diego) January 17, 2016 #CupOTeaSDCC  Google Hangout that focused on getting fit for San Diego Comic-Con – where co-host, Alyssa Franks (Friends of CC) and guests Jeff Mueller (The Mighty Jerd) and Kevin Walwyn gave great tips to help you get started and even how to recuperate after a long day at Comic-Con.

It’s amazing to see my fellow geeks and nerds come together and motivate each other to “get SDCC fit now…so you can enjoy SDCC later” (I’m paraphrasing Alyssa here).

To help celebrate the positive momentum of the #SDCCfit movement, I thought it would be awesome to throw out a 4 Day / 12 Mile Walk Challenge starting on June 21, 2016 (which is a month before SDCC). You can walk outside…around the house…on a treadmill…whatever you need to get those miles in!

By some accounts, one could potentially walk the length of a marathon (26.2 Miles) if all 4 days (and preview night) are attended. So, think of this walk challenge as a pop quiz to the final exam that is SDCC.

Hopefully you have been studying (walking / working out) consistently! I made a concerted effort last year to be SDCC fit by walking a ton for a good three months before SDCC and I definitely enjoyed the benefits. This year, I started to get in shape two days after January’s SDCC fit themed #CupOTeaSDCC Hangout (two months earlier than last year)!

Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to 12 miles. If you want to do some “extra credit” – go for it!

Let us know how you are doing by posting your miles for each day on either Twitter or Facebook and use the hashtag #SDCCfitwalk (you can also comment on our pinned tweet or our pinned Facebook post).

Good luck!

Oh, one last thing. Being #SDCCfit isn’t just about being fit for SDCC. It’s about being fit…for life!
