Show Notes:

On this episode of the Hall H Show, we recap our experiences at WonderCon 2017, which took place from March 31st to April 2nd in Anaheim, CA.

Hosts Aaron Nabus and Alex Benedicto are joined by writer, filmmaker and owner of HeroJournalism.com (and contributor to HallH.com), Jason Lethert; contributing photographer from the Convention.Life crew, Joel Feria and last but not least; the man who goes to like 200 conventions a year, Dan Berry! Dan is also a contributor to The Nerd Element and An Englishman in San Diego.

On this episode, we will:

  1. Learn what each of our WonderCon experiences were like:
    • What panels we went to.
    • What panels we wished we could have attended.
    • What were some of our WonderCon highlights.
    • What could be improved for next year.
    • What we picked up from WonderCon.
  2. Put a quick spotlight on some artists that recently caught our attention online in our Art Watch segment.
  3. Ask our guests some off the beaten path questions in our Thunder Round.
  4. Then we’ll Flash Forward and talk about what’s on the horizon for all of us.

Here are a few highlights that were mentioned on the show:

Shawn Richter talking with artist Patrick Ballesteros about the art he commissioned:

Thunder Round Questions:

  1. If real life was a cartoon, what cartoon universe would you want to live in?
  2. There are a lot of movie adaptations of comic books / cartoons these days. Are there any that you think that should stay…or should have stayed in an animated format?
  3. Iron Fist…have you watched it? What’s your take on it? Our friend, Kenny Rotter had a good good discussion about Iron Fist on his Dumbbells and Dragons podcast. Check it out here.
  4. There was a huge cosplay presence at WonderCon this year. I don’t think anyone of us has ever cosplayed before…but if we did what would you cosplay as?
  5. If you were a Transformer, would you want to be Decepticon or Autobot and what would you want to transform into?
