We take a time machine back to San Diego Comic-Con 2014 where we first met Don Thompson, the founder of the Poster Posse. This episode is also available on Google Play, iTunes, Stitcher, iHeart Radio and Spotify. The Hall H Show is hosted by Aaron Nabus and Alex Benedicto and is the “Voice of Independent Creators.”
Show Notes:
Hey there Hall H Show listeners!
Aaron Nabus here and I recorded the intro to episode 85 on April 6, 2020 which just happens to be the birthday of the founder of the Poster Posse…Don Thompson!
As many of you know, I’m a huge fan of Poster Posse and I appreciate everything that Don has done to promote the artists from around the world that contribute to each project.
I thought it would be cool to take a time machine back to San Diego Comic-Con 2014 when we first met Don – before there was even ever a Hall H Show…when we were just a blog. In fact we had just launched HallH.com one month prior to this conversation!
You’ll have to excuse the background noise since we were lucky enough to find an open area in the crowded mezzanine at the San Diego Convention Center. Plus, this was originally going to be a written interview anyway and I used a simple pocket recorder just to back up my notes.
What I loved about this conversation is that you could tell right off the bat that Don will always have the backs of the artists that are part of the posse and it was refreshing to find a kindred spirit who wanted to promote creatives from around the world who deserved more exposure.
It was pretty cool to hear again how the subpar art of the World War Z movie poster was the spark for him to start the Poster Posse in the first place and I thought that this recounting definitely demonstrates the importance of making your own circumstances.
We go on to talk about Batman, Bruce Lee, his leaving the east coast and moving to California with some friends basically on a whim, New Wave music and more!
Fast forward 6 years later, the Poster Posse is still going strong and still producing amazing work. I’m still in awe like I was back in 2014 each time I see one of their projects drop.
Please enjoy this phenomenal conversation and also join me and my co-host, Alex Benedicto in wishing Don Thompson a phenomenal birthday!

In fact, they just did a “space” themed project that included an amazing Silver Surfer poster by artist, Chris Skinner that is incredible!
See the rest of the posters for this project here.
