Hosts Aaron Nabus and Alex Benedicto recap San Diego Comic-Con 2017 with guests, Jason Lethert, Dan Berry and Matt Dunford! This episode is also available on Google Play, iTunes, and Stitcher.
Show Notes:
What do Kurt Busiek, the Eisner Awards, Jack Kirby, SDCCfit, tennis balls and Lolita’s taco shop have in common?
Our San Diego Comic-Con 2017 recap of course!
What an epic event this year’s SDCC was for the Hall H team.
We covered quite a few panels…especially ones pertaining to Jack Kirby, managed to record five podcasts, connected with both familiar and new artists and we also found time to have some fun – especially at the Hero Within Red Wedding and Screen Junkies after parties!
Of course we couldn’t recap an event as gargantuan as San Diego Comic-Con all by ourselves, so we’ve invited some all stars, Jason Lethert (from HeroJournalism), Dan Berry (the man who goes to 200 cons a year) and Matt Dunford (current Chairman of San Diego Comic-Fest and veteran of 23 straight SDCC’s).
On this episode, we will:
- Recap what each of us did at San Diego Comic Fest.
- Panels
- Exhibitors
- Offsite Events
- After Hours
- Discuss our top five moments.
- Mention any panels or events we regret missing.
- Discuss some trends we noticed.
- Talk about what we think San Diego Comic Con can do to improve.
- Do some off the beaten path set of Thunder Round questions.
- We’ll put a quick spot light on some artists that caught our attention on Art Watch.
- Flash Forward and talk about what’s on the horizon for all of us.
Art Watch:
Jason: Scott Hattox
Dan: Mako Fufu
Alex: Bubble Comics (based in Russia) and artist Anastasia Kim
